 Presented here for consideration is a magical Carlton Ware Sketching Bird Countess Coffee Cup & Saucer on a bright and vibrant Rouge colour-way. This classic art deco motif was designed by the renowned Violet Elmer. The Sketching Bird pattern was introduced circa 1934. This magical Cup & Saucer has the maker’s mark of the style that was in use from 1925. Dimensions The saucer has a diameter of 10.12 (4.25”) and when the cup is on the saucer it is 6.5 cm (2.6”) tall.  Condition It is in EXCELLENT condition; there are no chips, cracks, stains or repairs. There is just a touch of crazing to the white base of the cup only. There is NO wear to the gilding or to the hand applied acrylic paint. This is about as close to AS NEW as you are going to be fortunate enough to find.
