Carlton Ware Rouge Royale Polka-Dot Rita Sugar Bowl #AX114 PDF Print E-mail
Presented for consideration is a Carlton Ware Rouge Royale Sugar Bowl (shape 1582) and lid with hand applied polka dots. The sugar bowl is the Rita shape the pattern number for the polka dot pattern is 4225; this number is also written on the base of the sugar bowl. It has the black ink stamped Rouge Royale maker’s mark that was in use from 1951 until 1961.
  • Dimensions

It stands measures 10 cm (4”) tall and it measures 11.25 cm (4.25") across the handles.

  • Condition    
It is in excellent condition; there are no chips, cracks, stains or repairs. There is NO wear to the magnificent rouge finish or to the gilding and no wear to the acrylic spots. There is just a HINT of crazing to white on the inside and the base. I have no doubt that this immaculate sugar bowl and lid have never been used.

I believe that this more than likely led the privileged existence of cabinet dwellers. Rouge Royale finished in polka dots have always been sought after.
