Carlton Ware New Stork Art Deco Tray #AX024 PDF Print E-mail

Presented here for consideration is a stunning Carlton Ware New Stork Oval Art Deco tray. It has the black stamped maker’s mark of the style that was in use from 1925.

It still has the original factory applied paper label on the base with the pattern number 4339 clearly written on it in grey led pencil, the shape number 1608/2 small is also written on the label and impressed into the base.

  • Dimensions

This impressive dish measures in at 25.7 cm (10.12”) across including the handle and it is 16.5 cm (6.5”) wide.

  • Condition
It is in EXCELLENT condition; there are no chips, cracks, stains and no repairs. There is NO wear to the hand applied enamel paint and NO crazing. There is the slightest rubbing to the gilding on the handle – really this is very minor.

I just love Carlton Ware’s hand painted pieces, while New Stork is one of the more common it is also one of the best, from the golden birch like bark to the teaming foliage and then back to the Storks standing shin deep in the pond, this is a glorious motif.
