Musical Cigarette Box - Shape 8293

Plays English Country Garden by Grangier

Royal Doulton Fox Hunting Cigarette Box

Royal Doulton Fox Hunting Cigarette Box - Shape 8293

Royal Doulton Fox Hunting Cigarette Box - Date coded to 1940

Size

20 cm (8”) by 9.5 cm (3.75”) and it is 7.5 cm (3”)  tall

I have only seen these boxes in Fox Hunting "A", Dickens Ware and English Cottages. Is anybody aware of any other series that where produced in this shape?

Bridge Set - Shape 8148

Royal Doulton Bridge Set - shape 8148

Royal Doulton Dickens Ware Bridge Set - D.5682 - production era 1932 to 1941

Size

12.5 cm (5") by 9 cm (3.5") and it is 2.5 (1") tall

Individual Ashtray measure 7cm (2.75") by 5 cm (2")

These Bridge Sets originally came with four small ashtrays. These wee trays sit nicely in the bottom of the box and are so shaped they can be stacked. It is very rare to find these sets complete. Horror of horrors - I have seen vandals selling these sets on eBay as five individual lots. These sets are rare and a complete set is well worth a premium.

Bridge Set - "Cards"

Royal Doulton Cards Bridge Set

These Brige sets really are very sweet. The hollow portions of the base are match holders and they have a match striker built into one of the black faces on each upright.

Quoting Lee Pardey:
I have a cigarette dispenser (marked 8009A) which is very similar except no striler and it would "present" the match box half open. The design is flowers and belonged to my great aunt, just trying to increase my knowledge of it. Thanks
G'day Lee. I have not seen the A variation which you posses. Would love to see a photo of your ciggy dispenser, you can email to nicholnack@optu snet.com.au shape 8009 also holds the match box half open.

I have a bridge set numbered 8148 with 4 small trays inside, 2 have a fox and 2 have a hound. Lid of box has 1 horse and rider. Is this of any interest to collectors or of any value? Inherited it many years ago.
