These trays are not a very common shape to find, it is very rare to find them with there handle intact. All of the examples of this shape that I have seen seem to date from the 1930's onwards (of course as soon as I say this is the rule some swine is going to find an exception). Chargers come in two Sizes 34 cm (13.5") diameter 39 cm (15.5") diameter Chop Plate 

Chop dishes are thought of as a child of the 1950’s, but they seem to have gone into production in the late 1930's or very early 1940's. They differ from Chargers in that they do hot have hanging hole in the back rim and that they are of slightly heavier construction.
