Without seeing it I cannot be sure, but I would think it is a bone china shape. This series has more examples in Bone China than any other series. If it has a pattern number it will begin with an E if it is Bone China. Also if it is China the body of te vase will be slightly translucent.

I really enjoyed reading the information you provided. I have a piece from my grandmother which I've been able to identify as Scene #11, thanks to you. It's the yellow background, but I haven't seen a piece like hers - I would think it's a vase, but it has two small green handles at the base. Any thoughts? Again, thank you for your help!

Thank you so much for your informative site. We have just been given a twelve place tea service, water jug, sugar basin, slops bowl?, teapot and trivet. Through your site we have been able to date it to 1906. Not worth a fortune I'm sure, but having had the service in the family since new, it is invaluable to us.
Cruets in there original caddy are always very hard to come by. There where just not very many produced and they are notorious for being split up. so you should count your self lucky. I have examples of RD cruets on the Coverd table ware page http://nicholnack.com.au/r.d.-shapes/covered-table-ware.html, if you example is not there I would love a photo. Please send to nicholnack@optu snet.com.au

Coaching Days question

Thank you for having such a wonderful research site. Today I found a Coaching Days bone china cup and saucer at a local resale shop. Both are marked Series E2768, both have the maker's mark used from 1902 to 1932 and both have the "Snow Ground" with lots of gray and very little brown. However, the saucer is scene # 12 and the cup is # 13. Is this set most likely a marriage or could they have been originally purchased this way? I see your comment about trios having different scenes but am wondering if this is also true of just the cups and saucers? Thank you so much for your assistance.
