McHugh Pottery shape size variations PDF Print E-mail

With the aid of the curator of the “Erin May Collection” Nicholnack have now identified over 100 different McHugh pottery shapes (see McHugh Factfile ). Every piece manufactured by McHugh differs to its brothers, they may bear the same shape number, but as they are hand thrown every one is slightly different. Over some shapes the difference is quite large as these 7 photos from the “Erin May Collection” show.

The first vase I show is my favourite vase; Shape 60.  To me shape 60 is the epitome of the Arts & Craft movement.  The height of the vases are 201 mm, 221 mm, 285 mm & 342 mm.
